Euro 2016 fan fest kept cool by Andrews Sykes

United Arab Emirates has a population of 9.5 million people and about 5% of the expats are from United Kingdom and European countries. Many of these fans are looking for venues with big screen TVs and a great atmosphere to watch their favorite sport, football!

This year, the tournament will be held in France which has a great time zone for the fans in United Arab Emirates to watch the games in the evening. The event will take place this year from 10 June – 10 July.

Many fan zones have been set up around the Emirates for fans to watch the games. These include tents that require cooling. Due to the high summer temperatures and number of people in each tent, large chillers & air-handlers were provided to ensure sufficient cooling. Split AC units and package AC units were also provided to the smaller tents. read more

Process Cooling for the oil & gas sector

The oil & gas sector is a very important sector for the Middle East as this is one of the largest sources of revenue for many governments. Each refinery pumps thousands of barrels of oil per day along with natural gas and therefore production inefficiencies or downtime are very costly and can translate to the loss of millions of dollars.

Andrew Sykes was recently approached by a multinational fossil fuel provider to support with process cooling for one of its production facilities. During the oil refining process, the crude oil passes through a heat exchanger to cool down before moving to the next stage. One side of the heat exchanger has crude oil & the other side has sea water. This is effective during the winter but during summer the sea water is heats up and the cooling is dramatically reduced. read more

United Arab Emirates has some of the biggest and best malls in the world. Each mall is also a major tourist attraction and they include amazing activities such as indoor skiing slopes, ice rinks, sky diving simulators, arcade games, indoor tennis courts and indoor golf courses.

One of our clients, who specialize in high-end internal fit-outs, approached us to support them with wild air-cooling. They wanted to maintain the temperature below 28 degree Celsius and 50% relative humidity during summer to ensure that the area remained cool and dry before the permanent chillers & air-handlers were commissioned in the shopping mall. This ensured the integrity of the shop fittings, materials and products. read more

Beach cooling for summer party

Dubai has one of the most spectacular coast line and beaches to enjoy. One of our Client decided to have his party on one of the beaches on the Palm Jumeirah Island. The views of Dubai’s skyline were amazing and included Burj Al Arab. The only problem was temperatures were reaching 35 degree Celsius and above.

They contacted Andrews Sykes to provide a temporary outdoor cooling solution which could be delivered and installed the same day and keep the guests cool. We provided our flagship Evaporative Cooler called the EV36. The cool air provided relief to the full venue. Every year, Andrews Sykes is called to provide temporary cooling for warehouses. We have had many requirements ranging from comfort cooling of workers to cooling products to avoid them perishing, warping or to avoid heat damage.

Providing cooling for rice storage facility in Sharjah. Certain types of rice release toxic gas when exposed to high temperatures and humidity.

Luxury German car manufacturer in Abu Dhabi. Requires spares and parts to be kept in particular temperatures to ensure safety standards and warranty. read more

We were recently approached by a global 5 star hotel, resort & spa chain to provide a temporary cooling & dehumidification to one of their facilities in Ajman.

Ajman is one of the seven Emirates in United Arab Emirates which is made up of Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Umm Al Quwain and Dubai. With Ajman only being 32km from the Dubai International Airport, it is fast becoming a major holiday destination for many sun seeking tourists from Europe, Russia and Asia.

To attract more tourists, Ajman is building many attractions such as shopping malls, golf courses, hotels, resorts & spas. read more

Andrews Sykes was pleased to support the Abu Dhabi F1 race by providing 2TR & 5TR Split air conditioning units to the pit lanes last year. This year we were pleased to support the Dubai Autodrome with one of their race days. Andrews Sykes helps District Cooling Plant during maintenance & repair shutdown

We were recently approached by one of the major district cooling vendors in UAE (also commonly known as utilities supplier) to provide a temporary chiller during their planned maintenance & repair shutdown.

Dubai is famous for its skyscrapers and high rise buildings. Each of these buildings requires huge amounts of cooling that are often provided by DCPs (District Cooling Plants). These plants often range from 2,000TR – 10,000TR of various chiller packages. Often the district cooling vendors need to shut down the plant for maintenance & repairs. This might include routine maintenance, replacement of chiller spare parts or repairing damaged pipework. read more
